Grimhollow

Patch 0: everything in Grimhollow at launch

The full list of what's waiting for you on day one, from the RTP pad at spawn to Malakar's Crypt.

Grimhollow is a survival server with RPG systems built on top: custom gear with abilities, bosses with real loot tables, ranks you buy with in-game coins, and an economy run by players. Everything below is in the game on day one, and each link goes to the full details on the wiki.

Getting started

  • New players get a starter kit: food and torches, a Common crate key, an enchant book, a Claim Stone with 2 Warding Runes, a Kindred Rune, a few crafting materials, a First Steps plushie and the Traveller’s Guide. You also start with 100 coins. (Your First Hour)
  • Step on the RTP pad at spawn to be sent to a random spot in the wilds.
  • Playing with friends: make a party with /party invite <name> and step on the pad together, and you’ll land together. Already apart? Use your Kindred Rune to travel straight to a friend once they accept. (Playing with friends)

Land and travel

  • Land claims: place a Claim Stone to protect your base, trust your friends, and keep it warded with Warding Runes. (Land Claims)
  • One home per player (/sethome). For everything else there are Waystones: place them, attune to other players’ public ones, and travel with Passage Runes. (Waystones)

Ranks and progression

  • Climb 11 ranks from Wanderer to Grimborn with /rankup, paid for with coins you earn in game. Every rank unlocks perks like /sit, /craft, /hat, /ec, more land and more shop space. (Ranks & Prestige)
  • Reached the top? Prestige up to 10 times for more perks and bragging rights.
  • Skills level up as you play, giving stats and abilities. (Skills)

Gear

  • Around 160 custom gear pieces across Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary, plus gear that only bosses drop. Many weapons have their own abilities. (Weapons)
  • 9 armour sets, each with a set bonus, from the Polished Amethyst miner’s set to the Luminite set. (Armour Sets)
  • 77 custom enchantments, including Hollow enchantments that only bosses drop and Limited ones from the Blood Moon. (Enchantments)
  • The Blacksmith at spawn hones your gear up to +10 and fuses key fragments into dungeon keys. (The Blacksmith)
  • Five custom ores generate in the world, and their bars craft into materials. (Custom Ores)

Monsters and bosses

  • The wilds have custom monsters and tougher elites, each with their own drops. Server difficulty is Hard. (Mobs, Elites)
  • Malakar the Undying waits at the end of Malakar’s Crypt, the first dungeon. Bring a party: every group gets its own copy. (Dungeons)
  • More bosses are coming. Their names are already on the Bosses page.
  • Your first kill of each boss unlocks its statue in /collected. Server-first and fastest kills go on /leaderboard.

The Blood Moon

Some nights the moon turns red. Blood Moon elites take over the wilds, monsters drop Bloodmoon Shards, Sanguinar, the Blood Moon Herald appears in the wilds (/bm join to fight him), and the Blood Broker opens his shop at spawn. (Blood Moon)

Economy

  • Coins for ranks and trading, shards for the Shard Shop. Earn shards in the AFK zone at spawn. (Currencies)
  • Sell to the traders at spawn, rent a market stall, or run your own player shop. (Markets & Traders)
  • Crates, from Common to Legendary, and a Battle Pass. (Crates & Keys, Battle Pass)

Collecting and cosmetics

  • Plushies to collect from monsters and crates, tracked in /collected. (Plushies)
  • Kill effects, wings in your /wardrobe, and name colours that unlock as you rank up. (Kill Effects, Wardrobe, Name Colours)
